Immediate dentures are fabricated prior to your natural tooth being extracted. This treatment is ideal for patients that are unable to have any time spent without the appearance of teeth. The first fitting is done immediately following your extraction. As things heal the bone will shrink and tissue conditioners (temporary liners) may be added to the denture in order to compensate. These may be at an additional cost to the patient. In every case the healing is different usually in healthy patients after 4 to 6 months a permanent reline can be done sometimes this can take up to a year depending on the health of the patient. Patients may choose to wait for the full healing period to take place before having their denture inserted this would be done as a traditional denture.
