When a denture is broken or poor fitting it doesn’t always need to be replaced. When the examination is done it can be determined if the existing denture can be used and improved. Relines are done when the existing denture becomes loose and has a poor fit. Other cases involving weight loss, bone or tooth loss, aging, disease or illness may cause the denture to loosen or change in fit.  Dentures should normally be relined every 2-3 years.
